SMALL TOWN TRADITION CONTINUES IN MOKE HILL ON JULY 4
Small town tradition and charm march down Main Street in Mokelumne Hill for their annual 4th of July parade and celebration. One of the oldest continuous 4th of July parades in the Mother lode, viewers will be entertained with horse riders, antique cars and trucks, floats and wild diversions, marchers, cowboys and wondrous moments of fabulous fancy. A spectacular display of fire engines and trucks is the perfect finale.
The day starts off with the Veterans pancake breakfast starting at 7am in the Town Hall; leading to the parade which starts at 11am.  Children’s games and races will begin after the parade in Shutter Tree Park.
Vendor booths will crowd north Main Street with parade and carnival goods, the famous Lion’s Club bratwursts and the Mokelumne Hill Volunteer Firefighters’ Association selling t-shirts, nachos and BBQ’d pulled pork sandwiches from the old fire house on Main St.
Many businesses and homes on Main Street will be hosting coffee, pastries and tours of historical interests.
Bring your chairs, your children and grandma and have your hearts touched with 4th of July magic, Moke Hill Style.
For vendor, parade entrant or other information call Susan or Terry Weatherby at 286-1241.

AMADOR COMMUNITY NEWS. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles...we don't charge a subscription fee...we don't charge an arm and a leg for advertising...we don't have gossip columns, crime reports, or depressing headlines...and we're not in the back pockets of politicians, corporate media, or socioeconomic cliques.
What we DO is serve Amador County as an independent, community news, resource and information site...for FREE!

STILL LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS! THIS SATURDAY!!!!!

AmadorArts is in the midst of organizing our third annual Jazzin' It Up in Jackson event Saturday June 22nd from 6-9pm.  This is a free community event, featuring art, live music, wine tasting, food and fun.  AmadorArts, the Amador County Arts Council, raises important funds for our Arts in Education programs at this event through the sale of wine tasting tickets.

This is a great event, but we need a lot of volunteers to pull it off!  We are looking for people to take a shift sitting by the closed street exit to make sure no one is leaving with wine in their glass and help us keep this a safe and fun evening.  Volunteers will be given a complimentary wine glass to do some tasting of their own.

This is a great way to get in on the fun of Jazzin' It Up in Jackson.  Please contact us if you can take some time to help out.

You can email me back or call me at 267 9038.

Thank you,
Terra Forgette
Executive Director

FITNESS INSTRUCTOR WANTED for Mondays at Team Fitness. If you are certified and have your own insurance then a 7 or 8 hour shift would be good . . . including greeting people who come to work out, answering questions, explaining the equipment and teaching some classes. If you are not a Certified Fitness Instructor and do not have your own liability insurance, then I would want 2 people each with shifts up to 4 or 5 hours. I can cover you on my policy if you work under 5 or less hours. Please call Cherie at 209-296-2348.
